PLEASE check with a reliable older locksmith before you try something like this as there may be other dangers associated with your type safe. Changed the disks around to create a new combination then welded the disc cut out by the hole saw back in place, primed and painted and you can't tell it was ever drilled. Had the house spouse turn the dial while I watched the tumblers to determine alignment and had her write down the numbers for alignment. Used a flashlight and a long screwdriver to remove the back from the locking mechanism. Luckily my safe did NOT have the tubing inside. Mounted a fan to blow AWAY from myself and drilled the 2 inch hole in the back. Moved the safe outside, mounted a magnetic base drill to the back with a 2 inch holesaw centrered on where the lock was on the front. Called another fellow and asked about drilling from the back and disassembling the lock through the hole and was cautioned that some safes were built with tubing filled with poisonous gas between the walls so that if a crook tried this he would gas himself. I called another and was told the only way to open it was to drill the lock and install a new one ($200). One locksmith spent about two hours and gave up. Was given an old safe once and had the same problem.
